
PMPC Star Awards, Inc. formally announces the election of its new set of officers and members of the Board of Directors for 2026. The election was held on January 9 at the organization’s office on Roces Avenue, Quezon City.
Elected as President is Fernan de Guzman, who returns to the post after previously serving multiple terms. His re-election underscores the continued trust and confidence of the organization in his leadership and dedication to the PMPC.
Joining him as newly elected officers are Rodel Fernando (Vice President), Eric Borromeo (Secretary), Mildred Bacud (Assistant Secretary), Boy Romero (Treasurer), Jimi Escala (Assistant Treasurer), Joey Austria (Auditor), Evelyn Diao (Public Relations Officer – English), and Glen Sibonga (Public Relations Officer – Filipino).
The newly constituted Board of Directors is composed of John Fontanilla, Leony Garcia, Melba Llanera, Mell Navarro, Rommel Placente, and Francis Simeon.
Established in the 1960s, PMPC Star Awards, Inc. is recognized as the longest-running organization of entertainment media professionals in the Philippines, composed of editors, columnists, bloggers, and television and radio hosts. The organization is responsible for producing the annual Star Awards for Movies, Television, and Music, which honor excellence in the Philippine entertainment industry.
During President Fernan de Guzman’s term, the PMPC leadership, together with its members, aims to further elevate the standards of local entertainment journalism. These efforts are geared toward strengthening professional unity, upholding ethical reporting, and promoting the collective welfare of the organization and the industry it serves.
