ABS-CBN is Mario’s home for more than three decades. “ABS-CBN and ABS-CBN News are deeply saddened with the passing of one of our veteran reporters, Mario Dumaual,” ayon sa ABS CBN statement. Throughout the more than three decades that Mario worked with ABS-CBN, he established himself as one of the pillars when it comes to entertainment news reporting. An excellent and passionate journalist, a loyal and dedicated friend, a devoted family man, Mario leaves a lasting legacy to the industry. Thank you, and farewell to our Kapamilya,” ABS-CBN’s statement continued. Mario passed away at the age of 64 due to septic shock while he was recovering from a heart attack he suffered last month. The family broke the news to the public hours after his demise. Meanwhile, other showbiz personalities such as ‘It’s Showtime’ hosts Kim Chiu, Ogie Alcasid, and Karylle recalled their experience with Mario. “sad news. I remember Sir Mario for always being so kind and gentle sa mga showbiz tanong niya. The last time we encountered was a month ago during the #Sisters launch.

Yun pala yung huli namin pagkikita. Rest in peace sir Mario,” Kim Tweeted. “I’m fortunate to have known such a kind, sincere and supportive man praying for him and your family. Our deepest condolences,” Karylle said in a comment.

Napakabuti mong kaibigan Kuya,” Marc recalled. Meanwhile, the family announced that Mario’s wake will be held at the Loyola Memorial Chapels Commonwealth starting today, 2 p.m., until the afternoon of July 9, Sunday. The late entertainment journalist’s internment will be at the Loyola Memorial Park in Marikina City.
